Patient Aid

Bill Pay Assistance

We understand the financial strain a childhood cancer diagnosis brings.  Our Bill Pay Assistance (formerly, Patient Aid Request) should be submitted by a Medical Social Worker and is intended to assist a family (one time) who is experiencing financial difficulties due to lost income caring for a sick child.  Aid is meant to help get the family through a difficult financial crisis or catch up with bills they’ve gotten behind on due to missed work caring for their sick child. A list of possible one time aid is included but not limited to: gas and grocery cards, medical or utility bill assistance, housing assistance, help with transportation expenses such as repairing a vehicle used to bring a child to treatment or a car payment, alternative nutrition or therapies not covered by insurance, and funeral assistance. We will review each request carefully, and award aid based on sufficient documentation of need and availability of funds. Limitations and restrictions will be used to ensure assistance is not abused.

Monthly Assistance

We understand the financial strain a childhood cancer diagnosis brings. Monthly assistance will be awarded to help a family for consecutive months when they are experiencing extreme financial difficulties due to parents need to take a leave of absence from work to care for their critically ill child.  Aid will come in the form of gas, grocery or partial rent/mortgage assistance.  We require sufficient documentation of need, and aid will be awarded based on availability of funds & need. Limitations and restrictions will be used to ensure assistance is not abused.
