Hope Bags brought many smiles!

Updated: Jan 16, 2023

Thanks to many talented and generous partners, Megan's Wings was able to assemble and deliver 175 Hope Bags to kids needing to spend time in the hospital in 2022!

A big thank you to Geodis, a contract logistics company in Jurupa Valley, Ca who awarded Megan's Wings a $5000 grant in 2022 to help fund our Hope Bag project for a 2nd year. We were able to make 100 Hope Bags for teens this past summer and another 75 Hope Bags for younger kids up to age 12, who had to spend part of their Christmas Holiday in the Hospital. It's very hard to miss a holiday when you're a kid. Our Hope Bags helps bring the holiday to them!

Geodis employees made tie blankets, collected toys, books, craft kits, and hand sanitizer for each bag. Linus Project also donated handmade baby blankets and teddy bears for our younger bags, and Chaffey High School Key Club collected coloring books, markers and crayons for our Holiday Bags. Upland Foothill Kiwanis Club joined the fun donating a ton of crazy socks that the kids just loved. Special thanks to Janet Brinegar, who lovingly knitted homemade beanie hats for each child, in memory of her son, Justin Brinegar. Her family also contributed large lotions that our teens loved in their summer bags.

Megan's Wings partnered with Hillcrest Assisted Living, Upland Foothill Kiwanis Club and Just Serve to assemble the bags this year. It was rewarding for many of our senior helpers to be able to help assemble these special bags, reminding us the reward for coming together as a community to do good, helps both the giver and the receiver.

We couldn't be more proud to partner with all the volunteers and donors who donated many hours of their time to make homemade items for our Hope Bags. Your talents and love made our hope bags extra special for the kids who received them. We appreciate you so much! You not only help us bring joy to so many kids each year, but you also help lift their family's spirit knowing you care.
