The Uplander Club and UCCO is a charitable organization comprised of prominent retired but still very active ladies in the Upland, Rancho Cucamonga and Claremont area. They have alot of fun together, but they are also phenomenal in raising critical funding to advance the work of local non-profits. Each year, they choose a non-profit to fundraise for. Megan's Wings was selected back in. 2012, and we were so fortunate to be selected again for their 2023/2024 fundraising season.
Many thanks to all of you who came to the Dine-Out Nights hosted from Oct 2023 - March 2024. The grand finale of their fundraising season was UCCO's fabulous Gala that was hosted at the Claremont Doubletree on March 23. We had a blast attending, and thanks to everyone who participated in this fun evening of giving! Megan's Wings was presented with a check for $68,000 at this month's Uplander Clubs meeting. See pictures below. They shared this was their best fundraising year ever, beating their highest total by $8,000! They and we think friends of Megan's Wings pushed them over the top, so thank you to all of you who sponsored the event, bought raffle tickets, attended or bid on auction items. Your efforts pushed the Uplander's Club fundraiser higher than it's ever gone!
The $68,000 is being used to help expand our housing and gas grants for pediatric and young adult patients whose families are having difficulty meeting basic needs when a caregiver parent or the young adult patient is unable to work full time during treatment for cancer.
