Rosemarie's Story

On August 8, 2024, Rosemarie's life changed forever when she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Before her diagnosis, she suffered from persistent, severe headaches, frequent fevers, unexplained bruising, and recurring nosebleeds. What seemed like a series of concerning symptoms quickly became every parent's worst nightmare—a childhood cancer diagnosis.

Since then, Rosemarie has shown incredible courage. She has endured five intensive rounds of chemotherapy, each requiring 10 consecutive days of treatment followed by nearly a month in the hospital. Her journey continued with a bone marrow transplant, and today, she is celebrating five months in remission.

Because of her weakened immune system, Rosemarie has had to give up many of the simple joys of childhood, including playing in the sunshine, swimming, and even touching sand or dirt. Yet through every challenge, she continues to face each day with remarkable strength and resilience.

While Rosemarie was fighting for her life, her family was facing another battle at home. After the heartbreaking loss of her father, her mother had to stop working and relocate to another county to remain by Rosemarie's side throughout her treatment.

Thanks to the generosity of Megan's Wings donors, the family received rent assistance during this incredibly difficult time, easing one financial burden so they could focus on what mattered most—helping Rosemarie heal.

Today, Rosemarie's story is one of hope, resilience, and the life-changing impact of a community that comes together to support families facing childhood cancer.
